Just another Werrington Primary blog. Mrs Prince and the Year 6 children, who shared their poems, did a great Christmas assembly for us this morning. Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year from all the children and staff at Werrington! Christmas Carol concert at Moorside.
Today in nursery we have been superheroes! The children have been practising their throwing and catching skills by throwing their capes up into the air and then catching them. We hope your audience was as impressed as we were? A visit from Dr Williams.
RQW Writer of the Week. Imogen thought of a super idea for something that the woodcutter from Little Red Riding Hood might say! Baking cakes For Granny. We hope the decorated cakes will be a nice surprise when they deliver them home in their baskets tomorrow.
Year One made potatoes to represent themselves. We discussed how every potato looked different once it was decorated. We then cut one in half and discussed that even though we all look different, we are all the same on the inside. We talked about how we should be proud of our differences, and how we are all unique.
Y3 and Y5 Christingle Service. What a fantastic time we had at St.
Well done to Charlotte, Leah and Evie who are our nominated winners! They ensured their performance included all of the success criteria and even threw in some humour too. In Art, we have been learning about Roman Mosaics. We have then planned and created our own paper mosaics! What do you think? Performer of the Week! .
This morning year 5 looked at air resistance in science and had the task of designing the best parachute. They worked well in teams and had to decide what their independent variable would be. Then they tested their prediction by timing the parachutes fall from the top of the apparatus. Parker for another great Christmas service for year 3 and year 5.
We are really excited about this topic and look forward to sharing some dazzling work over the coming weeks. Well done to Nicole, Year 6 writer of the week.
